Damsel In Dior

Don't you wish we could all have such an audatious and sultry style just like our Queen Rhianna? It was none other than Rhi herself who took the fashion world by storm in the Fall of 2014 setting the street style sensation where she literally set the Dior Presentation on fire arriving in a rouge fur coat and garter stockings perfectly paired with her crimson lipstick. After seeing the 'Dior So Real' sunglasses on Rhianna I set out to aquire a pair of my own. Arriving in Selfridges Oxford Street and super excited to get my hands on a pair, the lady in the sunglasses department shattered all my hopes by telling me they are completely sold out nationally!! :-(

My heart could just not comprehend this and adamant there was a pair with my name written on it, I found myself on the other end of the line on a phone call with Dior on Bond Street. Much to my relief the lovely lady on the other end of the line reassured me that I had been misinformed and there was a pair in every colour available! YAY!

Oh my did I give my stilletos a run for their money, minutes later I found myself walking into Christian Dior on Bond Street. I tried on a pair in nearly every colour, they were all so stunning that it was becoming impossible to decide... One in every colour perhaps? But something just wasn't right. With the narrow pale soft eyebrow out and me donning my natural Arab eyebrow trend, the sunglasses just wouldn't sit right or align with my eyebrows! *"Oh la la" she says in a french accent* and quite frankly oh my gosh, how could they not look right after all that anticipation?

Just as I was about to lose all hope, the Dior Gold and White Reflected sunglasses caught my eye with their reinterpreted pantos shape. The front consists of a veneer of gold-tone galvanised metal topped with a graphic double bridge, while the temples are in fine white acetate. In simple language- they were perfection. With the temples in white and the nose pads in a delicate aquatic blue shade, they set the perfect ambience for summer shades. The shape and size suited my face shape and eyebrows far more and what I loved even more is that they weren't as common as the So Reals, as Coco Chanel once said "In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different."

As my father has always told me, "Patience is a great virtue in life. Be patient and greater things will come your way."
