“A woman's perfume tells more about her than her handwriting.” ~Christian Dior.
Dior La Collection Privée Christian Dior Oud Ispahan 125ml £165
There is nothing more daunting than having to choose the perfect gift for an exceptionally unique and iconic woman who happens to have created, moulded and cultivated you into the person that you are today. A woman like this is bold and courageous, yet unconditionally poised, nurturing and charismatic. A woman like this is known as a mother. What better flower represents these qualities than a Rose. Oud Ispahan is a careful yet intoxicating collaboration of base notes such as sandalwood, rose and agarwood (oud). Alongside a top note of labdanum bound together by a middle note of patchouli.

Oud Ispahan is named after the splendid city of Ispahan, Iran. It is known that behind every corner in Ispahan, you stumble upon spectacular remainders of rich past. Oud Ispahan does exactly this, with every emanation of the fragrance you are reminded of the rich ingredients which formulate this delicately romantic fragrance which causes 'an internal strugle between hunger and pleasure' with its intriquite pairing of oud with its beloved partner Rose.

The nose behind such an elaborate and elegant fragrance is François Demachy who is the Perfumer-Creator at Christian Dior. Demachy created this hypnotic and seductive fragrance in 2012 as part of Christian Dior's La Collection Privée, a series of exclusive boutique scents. What I love about Oud Ispahan is that it isn't the typical woody or leather based fragrance, it is the perfect scent for winter or evenings as it entirely engulfs the wearer leaving them the most elegant and alluring trail scent.
Here are some of my favourite Oud's...
"Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a mother is the greatest of them all."
