The Dolce & Gabbana Winter 2016 collection has to be my favourite so far! Not only are the designs ornate and simply exquiste, the entire theme of family and love is one that is close to the heart. Never have I expirienced a fashion catwalk that has included such young children and manipulated the theme of family in such a sophisticated way.

With detailed embroidery and intriquite embellishments, this is a collection which simply stole my heart away. As someone who appreciates rich fabrics and elaborate designs such as baroque, this was a collection that defintely caught my eye at first glance.

Whist sashaying along Avenue Montaigne in Paris, it was a matter moments before I found myself skipping from Chanel to Dolce & Gabbana after catching a glimpse of the luscious red roses in the window display.

The Dolce & Gabbana Winter 2016 campaign celebrates motherhood and expresses a bold and vivid declaration of love to women and especially mothers, this is depicted in the embellishments on the dresses that read "mama". This collection expresses women as a modern icon and the muse of true motherhood and is exhibited proudly in each design. The rose demonstrates filial love and has symolized for centuries the virgin, motherhood, romance and passion. The rose is a personal favourite of mine, as similar to Dolce & Gabbana, the rose has been the symbol of love and motherhood in my family.

I thought I was impressed by the collection so far, untill I saw the traditional black, Sicilian inspired collection where lace, crepe de chine and fur contibuted in creating a simply equisite and elegant collaboration of dresses and skirts which were further enhanced by precious lace and embroidered intaglio macramé. As many of you may already know, I live by the quote “When I find a colour darker than black, I'll wear it. But until then, I'm wearing black!”― Coco Chanel. This collection really proves that “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance," once again quoted by the queen of fashion.

The accessories in this collection were another feature which were daintily adorned by baroque and precious materials. Not only have Dolce & Gabbana created an image of the modern iconic mother and woman, but they have also incoorporated the 21st century to vintage Sicilian style by creating a unique twist on modern technology by adorning headphones and phone cases with delicate embelishments.

Stefano Gabbana once said “My ambition and Domenico’s is to make one style for the rest of our life. We will die, but people will look in a book and see a picture and say: this is Dolce&Gabbana style. This is the goal”. It is safe to say Stefano and Domenico that you have achieved this, one can simply tell the Dolce&Gabbana style.

I wrote a little letter to Stefano to both thank and congratulate him and Domenico on such a fabulous creation and in return, was kissed by a god of fashion... *faints* 🌹 x 🇮🇹
